Meet Marcellus Crews
Receiving the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award

The Journey of Crews
Marcellus Crews has called Maryland home for over 40 years and has built a life centered on service, leadership, and innovation. Raised in a family rooted in service, including a proud veteran legacy, Crews was taught early by his parents the values of discipline, sacrifice, and helping others. Their example shaped his lifelong commitment to serving people and strengthening communities.
As CEO of CREWSING Technologies, he has led projects across government, education, and business sectors delivering smart technology, infrastructure, and solutions that improve how organizations operate and serve people.
Crews’ commitment to service has remained constant throughout his life. He has led youth on global mission trips, helped raise $6.6 million for the homeless, and organized bone marrow drives that resulted in two life-saving matches within the Black community.
His passion for public service led him into the political arena early on. In 2007, Crews worked on President Barack Obama’s historic campaign, participating in grassroots efforts including door knocking in Virginia and traveling to Iowa, North Carolina, and Florida to support voter outreach and engagement. That experience deepened his belief in the power of people-driven movements.
Over the years, Crews has worked alongside government agencies and elected officials, contributing to policy development, drafting legislation, and supporting initiatives focused on economic growth, education, and community development. He has also led and supported projects within public institutions, helping improve operations, implement technology solutions, and deliver measurable results for residents.
In 2023, Crews was honored with the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award from President Joseph R. Biden and stepped forward as a candidate for the United States Senate, further expanding his commitment to public service. He later founded Prince George’s County Leaders & Citizens, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering youth, supporting small businesses, and strengthening civic engagement with a vision to help position the county as the Silicon Valley of the East Coast.
Crews brings a rare combination of private-sector execution and real government experience. Through his workforce and education initiatives, he continues to connect people to opportunity, bridging the gap between policy and purpose.
He believes that when individuals are empowered, communities grow stronger and that service is how we transform lives.
