Veterans & Seniors Deserve More Than Promises They Deserve Protection, Stability, and Honor
In Prince George’s County, the people who have given the most should never feel like they are navigating life alone. Our veterans and seniors built this community. They defended this country. They raised families, paid taxes, and poured into the next generation. Yet today, too many are facing uncertainty, rising costs, and systems that are difficult to navigate. That’s not acceptable.

Rising Costs Are Crushing Fixed Incomes — We Must Act
Access to Healthcare Should Never Be a Barrier
Protecting Our Seniors & Veterans from Scams and Financial Exploitation
How do we tackle the above questions?
Rising Costs
Let’s be honest — the cost of living is rising faster than many of our seniors and veterans can keep up with.
- Utilities are rising
- Electricity costs are climbing
- Everyday essentials are becoming unaffordable
And I’ve heard directly from residents struggling with:
- Mortgage and rent
- Utility bills
- Car payments and insurance
- Home repairs
This is not sustainable.
My administration will:
- Create a Veterans & Seniors Stability Fund for emergency support
- Expand access to property tax relief and utility assistance programs
- Develop affordable housing solutions, including innovative models like:
- Smart housing
- Energy-efficient communities (reducing long-term costs)
Partner with local businesses to provide discounted services and support programs
Access to healthcare
Prince George’s County has one of the highest uninsured populations in Maryland — and that includes veterans and seniors who should be covered.
This is not just a policy issue — it’s a communication and access failure.
As County Executive, I will:
- Launch a Veterans & Seniors Benefits Enrollment Initiative
- Ensure every eligible resident understands and accesses:
- VA Health benefits
- Medicare Advantage options
- Local and federal healthcare programs
- Partner with trusted community organizations to provide hands-on enrollment support
No veteran or senior should be confused about how to get the care they earned.
Protecting Seniors & Veterans
We are living in a time where cybercrime is rising rapidly, and unfortunately, seniors and veterans are being targeted at higher rates.
From hacked accounts to fraudulent calls, too many are losing their hard-earned savings.
That is unacceptable.
My administration will:
- Establish a Senior & Veteran Fraud Protection Task Force
- Provide free digital literacy and cybersecurity training
- Partner with banks, law enforcement, and tech companies to create:
- Rapid response systems for fraud victims
- Real-time scam alerts across the county
- Expand protections to ensure those targeted have recourse and support
We will not allow those who served and sacrificed to be taken advantage of.
A Commitment Rooted in Love & Concern
This is bigger than policy — this is about values.
Concern for Humanity means ensuring no one is left behind
Love of Family means protecting our elders
Love of Country means honoring our veterans with action
